Ayofemi Kirby is the Founder and Director of Galerie36, an intimate contemporary art house rooted in Dakar and open to the world, presenting the work of African and diasporic artists through exhibitions, conversations, and gatherings.
She brings more than two decades of experience across culture, communications, and institutional life, including senior roles within the U.S. Congress, the New York Public Library, and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and years of work with leading cultural institutions and artists through ElevenThirtySix, her strategic advisory practice.
Kirby holds degrees from UNC Chapel Hill, American University, and Harvard Extension School, with executive education from Duke University and Sotheby's Institute of Art. She is based between Dakar and New York.
