In January, we gathered at Galerie36 for an intimate street photography workshop led by Meureuk, held alongside Les Deux, his current exhibition at the gallery.
We began with Meureuk sharing more about his practice and walking through a few images that participants submitted ahead of time. It was a relaxed and thoughtful way to start—opening up conversation and helping everyone reflect on how they see and photograph the world around them.
From there, Meureuk introduced a few key ideas to keep in mind when shooting on the street: composition, focal points, framing, and what to look for in everyday scenes.
After a short walk through the neighborhood surrounding the gallery, participants returned with fresh photographs. Together, we reviewed the images, shared feedback, and made small edits—fine-tuning details and learning from each other’s perspectives.
En janvier, nous nous sommes réunis à Galerie36 pour un atelier intimiste de photographie de rue animé par Meureuk, organisé en parallèle de Les Deux, son exposition actuellement présentée à la galerie.
Nous avons commencé par écouter Meureuk parler davantage de sa pratique, avant de parcourir quelques images que les participants avaient envoyées en amont. C’était une manière simple et chaleureuse d’ouvrir la séance — en lançant la conversation et en invitant chacun à réfléchir à sa façon de regarder et de photographier le monde qui l’entoure.
Meureuk a ensuite partagé quelques éléments essentiels à garder en tête en photographie de rue : la composition, les points focaux, le cadrage, et ce qu’il faut savoir repérer dans les scènes du quotidien.
Après une courte marche dans le quartier autour de la galerie, les participants sont revenus avec de nouvelles photographies. Ensemble, nous avons regardé les images, échangé des retours, et effectué quelques ajustements — en affinant les détails et en apprenant les uns des autres.
